California Centers for International Trade Development (CITD)
California Centers for International Trade’s (CITD) mission is to promote the State’s international trade and competitiveness, assist exporters and importers, and advance economic and job growth. CITD is an invaluable resource to California-based food and agriculture businesses providing a wide-array of services and advocating on behalf of the industry. From hosting incoming buying missions and coordinating outgoing buying missions to matching international buyers with food producers and agricultural exporters to providing one-on-one counseling and export training services, CITD makes it easier to get California’s products into foreign markets. For over 20 years, the CITD boasts a proven track record, having served thousands of companies and has generated over $750 million in export sales. During the 2011/2012 program year alone, $12.1 million in new export sales was documented. Since 1989, CITD has coordinated and led over 300 agricultural trade missions to and from California and trained over 5,000 companies. Since 2005, the CITD has maintained a Memorandum of Agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). Through the MOA, the CITD serves as the “ex officio” export division of CDFA and host to all incoming buying mission to California. CITD serves as the lead sponsor for international inbound buying missions for the 2014 Fresno Food Expo. For more information on CITD, please visit http://fresnocitd.org
