The San Joaquin Valley New Product Awards, presented by Baker, Peterson & Franklin CPA, LLP, were created to recognize trendsetters and innovation in products grown and manufactured exclusively in California’s 8-county San Joaquin Valley. Fresno Food Expo exhibitors were given the opportunity to enter their new food product, varietal or packaging concept for an opportunity to compete for the “Fresno Food Expo Industry Award” and the “Fresno Food Expo People’s Choice Award.”
The Industry Award
The “Fresno Food Expo Industry Award” will be reviewed and ranked by a panel of Fresno Food Expo advisory committee members and Major Cornerstone Industry Service Provider Sponsors. The products will be narrowed down to four finalists before being sent to a panel of celebrity judges that will judge and announce the winner live at 1 p.m. during the business-to-business portion of the 2013 Fresno Food Expo on March 14. Celebrity judges are comprised of three industry experts including Erna Kubin-Clanin, world renowned chef, restaurateur, hotelier and owner of 5-star restaurant Erna’s Elderberry House and Château du Sureau, Villa Sureau and Spa du Sureau; Don Prince – Senior Merchant of Fresh Overseeing Service Deli Category Management for Save Mart Supermarkets; and Don Schrack, food and beverage industry expert, and recently retired journalist for the fresh produce industry’s premiere trade publication, The Packer. The People's Choice Award
The “Fresno Food Expo People’s Choice Award” gives the public the opportunity to vote for their favorite new food product or package and show support for their region’s most innovative food producers. You can start voting for your favorite product now or on our Facebook page. Votes will be counted by the number of “Likes” each product receives. The winner will be announced at 7:30 p.m. during the public portion of the 2013 Fresno Food Expo.
